Slow Down... and Get More Done
Published in Audio Cassette by Listen & Live Audio (December, 1996)
Average review score:

"Slow Down" is a treasure of a guidebook."Slow Down...and get More Done" is a book filed with warmth and humor that spoke to me in terms I could relate to without getting stressed out about all the things I need to do ... in order to not be stressed out. Grab yourself a cup of coffee (or your favorite drink) and cozy up on the sofa for a delightful read that will help you find your peaceful center. "Slow Down" will gently open you to discover the things that bring you satisfaction and joy--and how to make room for them in your life without turning you into some type of time clock junkie. "Slow Down" is a must for all those who feel lost in the race of their days and who wish to find the precious in life.

So Moses Was Born
Published in Hardcover by Ayer Co Pub (01 January, 1980)
Average review score:

historical fiction - Egyptian view of the birth of MosesWhether historical fiction, or the biography of a previous life (as claimed by the author), this book is well written. It describes the life of Pharoh and the politics of the Egyptian Court just prior to the birth of Moses. This is an entirely different account of Moses' birth than the one we are accustomed to reading. It is most entertaining and quite believable. I enjoyed the book very much.

Soldiers Falling into Camp: The Battles at the Rosebud and the Little Big Horn
Published in Hardcover by Affiliated Writers of Amer (June, 1992)
Average review score:

Native American Version of Battle of the Little Big HornSomeone should do a movie version of this book. With all the excellent Native American actors and actresses we have today, I'm sure that America would enjoy the Native American version of this saga. Greasy Grass better known as The Battle of Little Big Horn in this version excels in bitter truth and, in triumphant victory for the Native Americans. Everyone would walk away with much food for thought.

Something Worth Saving

A Great Personal StoryOkay, so I'm a little biased. I'm the author's youngest daughter and I know first hand the story depicted in this book. It is very true to life and I think many people, women especially, will find something in here that relates to them.
Bottom line, it's about finding the good in every relationship and committing to making it work. There are light hearted moments and plenty to ponder. In the end, it's a very uplifting story!

Sometimes I'm Happy: A Writer's Memoir
Published in Hardcover by Swallow Pr (March, 1995)

Colorado GoldThis book was written by my grandfather. Growing up he was just that, my grandfather. When he died, this book was still in the process of being edited by my grandmother and uncle Joe. I remember during the raucus party/memorial we had for Marsh, people were going in and out of Marsh's room looking at the galley's for the book. Months later when I received my copy I was thrilled to finally see a side of my grandfather I had never seen. Reading the book was a total joy for me. I was able to see into his life and suddenly everything about him made more sense to me. I loved the way he articulates history in a way that makes even young people enjoy the tale. I found the book to be readable, funny, and totally entertaining, just like my grandfather. I hope anyone who is interested in the joy of history will read this simple memoir and perhaps explore his other works too!

Southerner's: A Journalist's Odyssey
Published in Hardcover by Penguin Audiobooks (September, 1980)
Average review score:

One of the greatest non-fiction books everI've never written an online review before, but I'm writing this to pay back Marshall Frady for the awful injustice I did him - I kiped his book, "Billy Graham - A Parable of American Righteousness" from the L.A. Public Library before I moved to Israel because I wanted it for my own and couldn 't find it in any bookstore. (Decades before Amazon.) So this is what I have to say about "Southerners" - it's the best that journalism can be, the best that non-fiction can be. I'm a journalist myself, and while Israel is plenty interesting, if there was one story I wish I could have covered, it would have been the civil rights movement and how it changed the South - and the greatness of "Southerners" no doubt influenced my choice. Frady writes about people wrestling with their consciences, with the need to change, with the world changing around them - and you sense Frady's own wrestlings with these things as he writes. You feel the thing he's writing about, you understand it, you see it, you want more - this is everything writing can do. Speaking of wrestling with one's conscience, even though I just wrote such a loving review of Frady's book, it still doesn't make up for swiping his book from the library.

Speedboat
Published in Unknown Binding by Bt Bound (March, 1901)

This is such a silly book!We picked this book up to read when my daughter and I were browsing through a bookstore--it looks like it must be one of James Marshalls minor works; but trust me, its good! Its hilarious! (as usual) Watch out for Mr Raisintoasts' speedboat and the fat lady with a moustache who will "BOP" you if you don't give her a kiss! Sigh. Hes such a great author! Thank goodness for James Marshall; even though its not something that jumps out at you at first, you won't be disappointed!
Billy Marshall Stoneking's play, Sixteen Words for Water, is set in St Elizabeth's Hospital for the Insane in Washington, where Pound was effectively incarcerated after the war. An adept bureaucratic application of the Catch 22 principle kept him locked up for 13 years without the benefit of a trial or the unseemly publicity that might have gone with it.
Marshall Stoneking's script is a tour de force. It is dense, evocative and loaded with more intellectual argument than a busload of rabbis. Pound attacks almost every shibboleth of modern social engineering with the pronounced vigour of fanaticism and displays all the aspects of his deranged and ugly anti-semitism. The character of Pound which Stoneking creates presents a striking image of a mighty mad old man who is a cross between a modern-day King Lear and William Blake.
Despite the tension and the seriousness of many of the themes, there is wit aplenty, with more one-liners than the phone book.
Beautifully written, it will repay more than one reading, or hearing.
